Election success!
Election, News May 2nd, 2008Thursday’s local election has a resulted in a significant swing to the Conservatives across Bradford District.
- We won both Keighley East and Keighley West from Labour
- We reversed last years Labour victory in Clayton, with Deputy Lord Mayor Elaine Byrom retaining the seat for the Conservatives
- We took Bowling and Barkerend from Labour with a majority of 420.
- We established our lead in Queensbury, pushing back the BNP, with Michael Walls retaining his seat for the Conservative
Across the District, Conservatives gained three seats, Labour lost three seats and the Liberal Democrats made no progress.
